There are fantastic transport links that enable easy access to the university, around Worcester and to other areas across the UK. The Number 31 bus is a great service for students as it passes through the city centre and stops at the university on a regular basis.
The city has 2 railway stations,Worcester Foregate Street and Shrubb Hill and both are within easy reach of the campus. Links on this main line route give access to most of the major cities in the UK.
Parking and Permit Information:
Residential parking permit terms change significantly depending on the area with costs starting at £30.00 per permit, rising to £40.00 for a second and £60.00 for a third permit. However, some areas only allow one permit per household, for example Zone T. In comparison Zone E allows for households to have three permits therefore you will need to discuss this with your group to avoid any disputes at a later date.
Living in Worcester:
Worcester has a great atmosphere with the feeling of a small sophisticated city with a great variety of activities for students to explore and enjoy outside of the university campus.
In a great location in the West Midlands, Worcester is south of Birmingham and students have a variety of transport links by road and rail making it easy to get about.
Worcester is a fairly small city and so there is not a huge variety of nightlife however there are some fantastic social venues that hold a number of student nights throughout the week. The majority of these are located in the heart of the city, particularly around Angel Place. Popular clubs include Tramps Night Club and Bamboo Nightclub. If however you want a night on campus, the Sudents Union has a bar called “Dive’s Bar” which is a great meeting place throughout the day or in the evening.
Worcester has a great combination of shops and stores to indulge and explore. There are a number of key areas including the High Street, Broad Street and New Street which are valued for their shops which include high street retailers, independent shops and boutiques. There is also a popular shopping centre called Crown Gate which is situated on Friary Walk.
