The closest airport to St Andrews is Dundee Airport which is only 15 miles away,but as a provincial airport doesnt list many flights so it may be quicker to go to Edinburgh.
There is a range of bus services that enable easy movement throughout the area. The Stagecoach Bus company provides a wide range of journeys across East Scotland and is very popular with students.
In St Andrews there is no train station and the closest one is located around 5 miles away and is called Leuchars Station.

Living in St Andrews:
St Andrews is a beautiful town located on the east coast of Fife and has the oldest university in Scotland which is the third oldest in the English speaking world founded in 1413. It is known for its outstanding and breathtaking architecture in and around the town.
The nightlife is not particularly lively however there are a number of popular social venues that attract the students. The majority are mainly pubs. There are only a couple of bars in St Andrews which have dance floors which includes the University’s Student Union. The only nightclub in St Andrews is called The Lizard, however even this is relatively small.
St Andrews has an array of beautiful surrounding facilities that should be visited during your stay which includes The Castle, The Cathedral and a number of independent artshops including the Artery Gallery. The shopping locations in St Andrews are in the town centre, which is host to independent stores and boutiques, that are often privately run by local people.
