Parking and Permit Information:
Permits are generally not needed unless you are located in the City Centre or the rugby and football stadiums. The majority of locations that students tend to let do not need permits due to the ability of off road parking and with some houses having drives. However, if you require a permit it can easily be obtained by visiting the Leicester council website.

Around Leicester is relatively cheap so think about investing in a bike as many students travel to and from university on a bike and with an unlimited storage at University for you to leave your bike, which is convenient and easy for students!
Leicester has a spice of variety for students in terms of the social scene are there are popular venues that hold student nights for students to attend for every day of the week. Liquid and Club Republic are popular clubs for students on a Monday night. Other highlights include the 02 Academy on Wednesday and Friday Nights. Other popular bars and pubs in Leicester for students include Olive’s bar on Queens Road, The Dry Dock and the Loaded Dog on London Road.
Leicester has two indoor shopping centres which both have the mjaority oh high street stores and popular brand names. Firstly, there is the Highcross and secondly the Shires Centre. In combination with these shopping centres, the majorit of smaller independant shops and boutiques can be found in Leicester Lanes and St Martin’s.
